For a motion-design final centered on the Exploratorium Annual Awards Dinner, I created a 10-second, 720p honoree cut scene for physicist Helen Quinn.
Context
The piece was designed to play as Quinn walked to the stage, following a brief that called for her name in Avenir and sound.
Contribution and approach
I developed the concept and built the animation in After Effects and Cinema 4D using the MoGraph toolset. Interacting particle forms served as an abstract reference to Quinn’s work in particle physics. I consolidated the storyboard’s second scene into a transition so the honoree title could remain on screen longer.
Outcome
I constructed the piece as a seamless loop, allowing the final frame to flow back into the first. The version shown presents the loop three times.
